Yeasayer: Around The World in Three Short Years

The buzz around the Brooklyn NYC outfit Yeasayer is so thick you’ll need x-ray specs to simply make out their myriad sonic shapes and sizes.

2007 saw the band’s debut literally appear out of thin air – the deft and shifting All Hour Cymbals – and it quickly captured the imagination of the young and restless; a mess of ambient ticks and quirks, world music influences, and popular song.

Their recently released Odd Blood: ingested with Yesayer’s acquired influences and experiences culled from two years of touring their psychedelic sideshow around the globe, which burps up a record that manages to represent both the band’s love of the weird, wild, worldly, and experimental, and their bent for catchy electronic pop music.

Consciously split into two halves, Odd Blood expertly displays the trio’s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde musical personality, and will have the kids going apeshit.
