Critiques CD: Ty Segall Band | Slaughterhouse

West Coast USA phenom Ty Segall follows up this year’s still hot collaboration with White Fence with another tasty tray of no-frills, no-nonsense rock and roll, young-gun style. Ty and his band – most feared is bassist and backup vocalist Mikal Cronin (please check out his self-titled solo slab from last year) – rip their way through eleven heavy courses of boozy, ballsy, I-Don’t-Give-A-Shit wattage, doused and torched with bar-room blues, garage-y punk, psychedelic wah-wahs and deeply buried treasures of pop melodies and hooks. Don’t let his twenty-young years fool you. Segall and co. are the real deal.
