The Tallest Man on Earth: The Boy and His Guitar

The Tallest Man on Earth is the moniker that young gun Swedish musician Kristian Matsson has adopted in a testing quest to conquer the world solely with his acoustic guitar and his voice. It’s hard not to throw out a few Dylan comparisons when discussing his musical output, right down to the nasally twang in his voice, a lo-fi batch of finger-picked acoustic folk, pop and country-flecked blues tunes as heard most recently on his second full-length, the wildly received The Wild Hunt.

Fans on this side of the divide caught wind of his charm and spell-binding live stage show as the opening act for Bon Iver’s North American tour in the latter part of 2008, returning several times since as a headliner to set the young girls’ hearts a-flutter with his honesty, raw romanticism and heart-on-your-sleeve lyrical twists.
