Four Tet: Love is Dancing

Dancing, shyly but ecstatically, just off to the left of the dancefloor, Kieran Hebden’s latest album is a culmination of the British musician’s DJing experience and experimentation with jazz. His global journeys have led him closer and closer to the dancefloor, and a consistent throb underlies the upbeat and joyous polyrhythms of There is Love – Africa is in the house.

Four Tet goes deep into the dancefloor, cleverly exploring conventions but never succumbing to them. It’s music for a gentler, kinder dancefloor, electronic but organic, dense and layered but light as sunshine. It makes you dance, then it wanders gently off the dancefloor before returning. Jon Hopkins adds his own delicate touch to what promises to be a beautiful, moving evening.
