Circus After Hours turns 7 and celebrates a total revamp, a new sound system, and world renowned DJs

Along with its seventh anniversary, Circus After Hours is set to unveil the results of months worth of renovations aimed at enhancing the phantasmagorical experience of dancing until dawn for the colourful denizens of Montreal clubland. NIGHTLIFE recently spoke with Circus team member and resident DJ Domenic Pandolfo, who filled us in on the changes afoot at the storied after hours venue.

What can people expect from the recent renovations?
First of all, this is more than just a cheesy facelift. We have totally revamped the club. The two main rooms will have distinct looks and feels, as they’ll represent different types of circuses – from the modern day “Cirque Du Soleil” style, to an old-school Barnum and Bailey vibe. We’ve also installed 100% LED lighting technology to create a unique and adjustable atmosphere.

What can you tell us about the new sound system?
We thought “go big or go home,” so we decided to go big. We always wanted a state of the art Funktion-One system and now we have one. Nowhere else in Canada will you find a system with the capacity of what we now have.

Seven years in, what has made Circus what it is today?
I think our success can be directly attributed to our staff. Everyone here is in it for the right reasons. Additionally, showcasing local talent alongside our guest DJs has always been really important to us – it’s what drives the club. We are evolving, but our product will always be electronic music at its best.
