Design and fashion in Montreal is …?
Happening. It's really part of the city's blood stream. That's what I like most about this city, it's full of it!

Your idols?
Frida Kahlo (of course), Remedios Varo, Elizabeth Zwerger, Chihiro Iwasaki and Rebecca Dautremer.

For you, design and fashion are…?
Part of my life, a necessity, an inspiration.

A trend you're fond of ?
I like the Japanese street fashion trend. Dressing almost like dolls! FRUITS is a good exemple of it.

When you were a kid, you dreamt of becoming…?
A ballerina or an artist… so I guess I got one of my two choices.

Where do you feel most at home?
At my home and where the people I love and love me back are. I make my home wherever I feel loved.

What should not have disappeared?
Childhood. I think children of today are getting to be adults way too quickly, they are getting too much information too fast and sometimes this information is not really appropriate for them. We need to make sure children live their innocence; they are losing it too early.

Your vice?
Watching crappy TV.

Being your own company is…?
A dream, my dream come true.  A source of happiness and freedom, a place where I always wanted to be.

A place that inspires you to create?
Museums or book stores.

Your working tools are… ?
Sewing machine, scissors, pencil, my hands and my imagination.

You can’t live without…?
My loves (husband, sister, friends and cats), my books, Cara Carmina and my spicy sauce.

3 favorite places in Montreal?
The Museum of Fine Arts, The Mile End (in general) and a little island in the St. Lawrence river my husband and me found while kayaking. We go camping there, it's our hiding place.

If you had a magic power, what would it be?
I would like to be able to appear and disappear wherever I want. I could go to all the museum exhibitions I want to in the world, visit every country I'm fond of and go visit my sister and my best friends in Mexico whenever I miss them too much.

What is your motto?
Become your dream! (borrowed from street artist James de la Vega)
