Blog of the Week: The famous just being famous

Here’s to our first Blog of the Week! In this new—and cutting-edge-ish—weekly series, we’ll be showcasing a particularly good blog that catches our eye. So no worries if you don’t have enough time to Reddit, Stumble, Tumble, or whatever else is new on the blogosphere in your off hours.

Our first Blog o’ the Week revolves around a pretty well-known hook: famous people being famous together. Some savvy tumblr user has amassed a gigantic archive of photographs from legendary get-togethers of all shapes and sizes and dubbed it fittingly, “Awesome People Hanging Out Together.” In other words, it’s a paparazzo’s wet dream.

Since November 2010, this blogger has taken the cult of personalities to a new level with ongoing submissions of pictures ranging as far back as Mark Twain and Nikola Tesla sharing a moment with a Tesla Coil, to the all-too-cool Jay Z having a laugh with Will Smith. There’s enough black & whites, polaroids, and yes, even video to keep People busy captioning for the next decade. Some highlights (of the many): Bob Dylan and Muhammad Ali posing calmly for the camera, Queen Elizabeth with her actress-doppelganger Helen Mirren at Buckingham, a young Michael Jackson with the ne’r-changing Woody Allen, and an understandably weird encounter between Salvador Dali and Alice Cooper involving jewelry and moustaches.

Check the link and feel free to wonder about the conversation between any of these celebrity greats…
