Balkan Beat Party: clanging bangles, conga lines and gypsies unleashed

Do people hear you approaching from miles away because of all your clanging bangles? Do you prefer swinging your hips to shaking your ass? If you’ve ever dreamt about living a nomadic life and dancing around a bonfire in circle formations to Eastern music, then the Balkan Beat Party happening on Friday, July 2nd is the place for you to be.

The second edition of the Balkan gypsy music party will be held at Divan Orange at 9 p.m. and will feature musical acts such as Audio Prophecy, DJ Eliazar and DJ Touski. The first Balkan Beat Party was such a success that the venue became extremely overpacked and overheated, so make sure to arrive early if you want to unleash your inner gypsy.

Now, may I also mention that countries in the Balkan region include Croatia and Greece, two of the biggest summer party destinations in Europe. For those fortunate enough to have been, you’ll know that even as a non-Balkan native with dance moves stiffer than the ruins of the Acropolis, these people can get you dancing.

When I think gypsy, I think conga lines and lots of hand waving and clapping. Infuse that with some typical Greek and Croatian debauchery and you’ve got yourself one Balkan Beat Party, volume II.
