I work at Pier 21 and we've really turned things around in the last little while. We have a great band and DJ every wednesday night along with $3 rail drinks and $3.50 drop shots. You can also get all you can eat wings for $11. Friday and Saturdays are unreal too. Get there early enough though because the lineups get ridiculous around 10:30. Each time I come to Ottawa since 2003 I go to this club. Always I found nice girls, last one is Katie, great pierced nipples.

This weekend was the first time I've been to Suite 34.

The first thing that grabbed my attention was how unbelievable the music was. There was a ton of energy running through the building that you could just feel when you walked in. To add to it, they had a drummer, drumming along to the music which added to the incredible vibe of the place.

The staff there were great too... the girls were incredibly good looking and every one that worked there seemed to be full of energy!

What can I complain about? Well, other than the fact that it was really busy and it got a little difficult to move around, but thats about it.

Suite34 is definitely the best nightclub in the city. You're guaranteed to have more fun there than you will at any other bar in Ottawa. I'll definitely be back

I have almost become a regular feature at this place, having traveled all over the world this place does really mean business. This is a family ran business. Simon is awesome and does a lot for the community as well as sponsor many sport teams. Plus they are many activities such as dart league. The live bands makes a wonderful evening of dancing and has a certain renaissance about it. The staff is friendly, the food is good, the prices are great. It is a home away from home.

This might be actually the worse bar in Ottawa. It has a smell that would anyone off. Not worth and money to get in. Prices for booze if average but should be free if you have to pay a cover. No room to really move in there, unless you like sweaty people all over you. Oh and my favourite part, Never order mixed drinks there they rip you off, they don't fill up the shot glass, so you actually don't get an oz of liquor.

Anyways worst bar ever.

I was at the Heart & Crown on Preston on 29DEC09 and was dissapointed with the service.I have been going to the crown since it opened in the market. On 27DEC09, at approximately 13:30 the place was dead, there were several waitresses with no tables who decided to have personel conversations with the barmaid as they hovered around me as I sat drinking and eating lunch at the main bar. One of the topics was about funerals (inappropriate) and general chit-chat. Standing around looking bored and fraternizing in full view of custpmers is not only unprofessional, it is unethical as the staff should be finding other chores to complete on behalf of the establishment (one of the girls was professional and scrapping gum from under the bar rail and sweeping floors)The others walked about aimlessly, looking bored. As a customer and former restaurant/bar employee , I was awestruck that the barmaid was more interested in hearing her co-workers tales than in providing quick and efficient service, considering I was the only customer seated at the bar. I will go back, not soon, but I certainly won't expect good service.

The Bar was much better when it was On Tap. There was MUCH more room to MOVE. That being said, it looks a lot better now. The washrooms on the other hand are the same, a little dirty, and you have to walk down SUPER steep stairs to get to them. It is almost impossible to make it down those stairs when you have had your share of drinks for the evening.

As a frequent visitor of suite i have come to enjoy the atmosphere. If you want to listen to some of ottawas best dj's you need to get down to 34 clarence also you need to check out friday nights there is a drummer that plays to the djs mixes and its prob the sickest thing i have seen in a club for a while. Patty Bolands is an amazing bar, great location etc. But I have to agree wholeheartedly they need a new bouncing staff. They are wannabe cops on ego trips who always seem angry. Isn't the bouncer supposed to be the cool guy? I once wasn't allowed in (hadn't even started drinking yet) because the bouncer "didn't like the conversation me and my friends were having" What is that, no free speech either? Hadn't seen such a tacky decor in a while... all the tv's everywhere make it look like a glorified sports bar gone Hollywood. My friend got asked to leave after accidentally braking a glass (go figure) the door is ran by people you cannot reason with. I guess the only reason me and my friends walked in there was because one of the door man pretty much begged us to come in... The club was empty most of the night. The music was cheesy and the sound system hurt the ears. The bar staff was friendly though. That was nice.

I visited Lago last week for Antoine Clamaran and it exceeded my expectations for a club in Ottawa. The music was very very very good and the vibe of all the house music lovers and the light show were all just overwhelming. We had a table/bottle service and we got in right away our coats were in a separate spot than non btl service ppl witch was really practical at the end of the night! Enjoyed my night very much and will go back for sure just can’t afford to every week!

I loved this place! It was not very crowded this Wednesday when we arrived around 10 p.m. but later that night more and more people joined a life act of an unknown but extremly good band. We payed $3 to get in and the really very nice bartender Jessica informed us about the special of the night: rum with coke for $3...
The place was clean, everybody friendly and the music awesome. If I would live in Ottawa or close by I would visit the Pier 21 again...unfortunatly I live in Germany. But I will take a nice memory with me back home of a fun night at Pier 21 :-)

My friend recommended this place for watching hockey. Myself and a couple other people never been so was excited to go. My friend called in the the afternoon to see if the upstairs would be open and they said yes @ 6pm. When we got there our server said no it won't be open till 9:30pm. Ok no big deal! Our server was too busy flirting and not coming by our table, annoying cuz I wanted my beer! The washrooms were disgusting, I almost threw up literally. Toilets clogged, no paper, puke ect...Took 3 people to complain and then they finally cleaned it. For the food, well we asked if we order 2 lbs of wings if we can get 2 different flavors, nope not allowed. Got my wings and again almost threw up. I pulled a long hair out of my mouth, it was stuck inside the wing under the sauce! My friend order the burger, it was red! Oh I forgot to mention our new server we got when we had to move tables, she was good and polite. When we got our bill they didn't even give us a discount!!! Our server said to us "oh we can't do that" So, needless to say my friend who recommended this place was embarrassed and none of us will return!

i went in for dinner and the staff was great! they were very nice and gave some suggestions and recommended a wine, even the busboy was extremely curtious... and then the food came out! it was genuinely bad.

my steak was over cooked
my wifes pasta was cold and bland...

I went to Mansion twice. The music was awful, the DJ clearly don't know what he's doing (it was the same DJ both times). The first time I went it was lingerie night and it is simply disgusting. The people working there are not hot enough to be working in lingerie anyway. I don't want to see girls with no ass, no boobs and no personnality in lingerie. And the guys all look like they're 19.

Diner with non-hip parents on a Thurs night at 6:30pm...

I read lots of good / bad and ugly reviews... I was wondering why my friend rocco'd it to me...

The place was 5-10% full, so I expected good fast service. Waitress and hostess were friendly and gave us lots of time and decent advice. There was a special on "2 can dine for $59 which was 2 pasta diners and a bottle of wine. Waitress thought it was 2 pastas and 2 glasses of wine... that was the only negative of the eve... period. When I explained that two pasta dishes and 2 glasses would cost less than the special price, she looked into it and corrected herself.

All three meals were good portions and cooked perfectly. Home made chips were tasty. App sweet potatoe fries were quick and tasty.

Hostess allowed us to choose our table and even moved us to 3 at a table for 6 as the remaining 4's with window view weren't perfect.

You can eat well here for $30 a person (main and drink), or go all out and spend $100 a person for unique food and good wine.

I plan to go back during prime time and hope the service and food is as good!

When I went on saturday night, october 3rd 09. WE waited in line for over an hour. We also saw a bouncer ( i think his name was Ryan) punch a client in the face and clearly broke his nose. We saw that the client had done absolutely nothing wrong. He was on the patio and he asked to get off, and as he did, he stopped in the stairs four couple seconds to see what his friends were doing, and a bouncer just pulled him rudely, threw him in the puddle of water and punched him in the nose. I think that bouncer should be fired and charges should be held against him . what he did was unprofessional, unnecessary and extremely violent. the client had to be rushed to the hospital as cops were involved. Very disapointing. Also, when I went to the liqur store for a girlfriend's birthday, the bartender kept complaining how hungover he was and didnt want to work.When we ordered 3 shooters, they were half full we had to ask him to poor them properly to ge our money's worth. I will not return to this bar and will not recomend it.

This place was terrible.... I walked in with 2 buddies and my girlfriend to grab a couple of drinks. We order a couple of wings and a bunch of beer from this obnoxious girl who had a hard time counting because she only brought 3 glasses, 6 plates and 1 of the 4 drinks. As I waited for her to return I made a quick run to the washroom to find floaters in every can and a paper towel covered urinal. Not to mention the sticky floors and the lack of a garbage can.... When I made my way back up I saw a bouncer with his arm around my buddy's the neck, dragging him to the front door while my girlfriend screamed at him. The reason they gave us was that he caused a huge brawl last time. My buddy is from Argentina as an exchange and this was his first night out in Ottawa. Thanks Pier 21.

I went with friends on Sept. 2nd, 2009 and we saw the C*** but did 't see the Lion. Terrible food, especially the fries and the pizza which was extremely small, had nothing on it and besides was undercooked, the dough was literally raw. I asked them to cook my pizza and they came back in 3 minutes with no change in the dough. The quesadilla was very small and empty. It had 3 small pepper chunks, 3 tomato chunks and a tiny piece of chese.

Terrible service as well. For the pleasure we paid $67. Never again!

Saturday night was great. Wow there was alot of people at Lago. My friends and I had an amazing time. We couldn't stop seeing good looking women. There was twice as many women as men. The staff looked busy but my service was excellent. I will get there earlier next time so I don't have to wait in line.
