Standing where Bauhaus once stood is the Rockwood Nightclub. Rockwood opened it's doors in October 2006 with it's three very distinct levels. When you first walk in you will enter "Rock". With it's sloping ceilings and natural rock and crystal used to reflect light and movement, the level gives off a subterranean feel. The Second level, "Wood", uses graphic imagery and walnut floor, ceiling and walls to give off the feeling that you are lost deep within a forest. Finally, upon the roof patio there is "Grass" where patrons can enjoy the summer weather.
It's certain that Rockwood illuminates sophistication.

House music is exclusive to Rockwood and features Live Entertainment. The Club is Open on Fridays and Saturdays, 10 p.m.-3a.m. and Caters to a 19-35 crowd.

I'd give it a 0-star rating if there were any for this useless piece of a shithole that claims to be a club! The worst clubbing experience in my life happened at this club on Saturday, 21st of February 2009. It was a birthday bash for one of my boys and we picked this club out as we wanted to celebrate in style. We were on the guests list and have a bottle service party booked for that night. We arrived like a minute later than 11.00 a.m. and were in line at about 11.02 p.m. And guess what? We were refused entry by this chick at the door saying that we are late? I mean like I understand if you were late by 10 mins or so but by 2 mins? Ridiculous! So we got in and as posted by the other reviewers here, it was simply dumb. They took so long to get our coats checked and instead of getting people to move on, some of the girls at the coat check were chatting up with some of the club's patrons, taking their own sweet time to check the coats! Moved up to the Wood level of the club and it was already jam packed with people at 11.15 p.m. We had no ushers or club personnel to help us with finding our private booth and the bottle service arrived like an hour later after arguing with the waitress that we double booked the damn bottle for the party where she continuously argued that we did not book it. Music was somewhat mediocre and the DJ was lousy in spinning and switching tracks from one song to another. The temperature in the room was hot as hell by the time the night ended and they kept letting people in at the Wood level of the club, so in the end the entire place was just overly crowded with people. Talk about fire safety hazards. The bartenders were the only saving grace of this club as they were nice and courteous and were attentive to your requests. The pricing on the drinks? Definitely pricier than most of the clubs in Toronto. The night ended with tragedy as we had about 3 guys crashing our private booth and even after telling them off nicely to move along and leave us alone, they constantly were in our face. One thing led to another and the first fight was initiated by the party crashers. And what does security do to settle this fight in the most civilized manner? Nothing! They even did bullocks to even care that these guys crashed our private booth and instead just started shoving everyone out of the door, even people not related to the fight. Apart from breaking the fight and even after telling them that they crashed the booth that were we using, they did nothing and instead just sent both parties involved in the fight out at the same exit doors. Which group of moronic bouncers would do such a thing when you know that sending these 2 groups who are fighting out at the same doors?! So the fight broke out and my boy who was celebrating his birthday that day ended up with a split lip and a bruised face after being pounded by 3 guys who decided to pick a fight with the guy who was already too drunk to even stand up. All this could have been avoided if the bouncers contained and handled the situation properly and called the authorities when the fight broke up in the club. They did absolute shit in helping us out when the fight broke out and did not even care to call for an ambulance or help to attend to a guy who was down on the floor cold and who was not breathing. Thanks to the quick thinking of other club patrons that the cops and ambulance showed up to look into the issue. My question now is that, if you the club bouncers cannot provide the safety of your club patrons while being harassed in your own premises, then why do you even call yourselves bouncers? This club is a disgrace to clubs establishments everywhere and Rockwood Club if you are reading this, please train your freakin’ bouncers on crowd control and management and to put in some effort in doing their jobs well. I would not recommend this club even if I was paid to promote it! A note to the club management aka owner, either take an extra interest in what’s happening in the club or just don’t do business.

We were there July of 09. Before we went we checked out their website and thought the place was cool. Well, the setting was ok but everything else was bad. Two separate incident of fights happened that night and the club doesn’t check people at the door so have bulletproof vest before you go. Also the bartender on the ground floor has a really bad attitude and expects a tip. WOULD NEVER GO AGAIN.
