Mac DeMarco’s right hand bass man – the great Peter Sagar – drops his first solo platter here under the guise of Homeshake, a minimal drums, guitar, bass experiment sure to gather warm steam in these winter months. If you are familiar with the boss Montreal imprint Fixture (home to Freelove Fenner, Brave Radar, Dirty Beaches, Sheer Agony, etc.), you get an idea where this one is going: dreamy rock meets the dirty pop of the big city. Sagar, with the help of DeMarco and Jackson MacIntosh, wakes and bakes his way through Pavement-esque slack, angular musings, sound and vocal snippets, lo-fi ramblings and hi-fi melodies.
