Critiques CD: Great Lake Swimmers | New Wild Everywhere

Following up the record that broke you big time to an international audience is no easy feat. Just ask singer-songwriter Tony Dekker and his Great Lake Swimmers project. The man with the ‘golden throat’ attempts to best the successful Lost Channels on his fifth record here, a tuneful platter of soft rock lullabies and orchestrated folk meets pop tunes sure to appease the casual fan. Dig a little deeper though and the love you showered on those first few GLS records will get lost in a record that spins its wheels over less-than-exciting lifespan. It’s not a bad disc by far. Just a little bland. April 5th at L’Astral
