Critiques CD: Egyptrixx | Bible Eyes

Glow sticks ahoy! Bible Eyes starts with a rather overwrought, epic electronic soundtrack to a voyage through the cythonian bowels of hell, where shimmering cymbals and Gothic baritone male choral intoning add to the spooky effect. The album quickly lightens up into techno mode, rife with swirly and squirly sounds. Unfortunately this Toronto native’s trax are irritating while they’re bouncing around the speakers high on rave clichés before subsiding into an impoverished attempt at electropop. Technically proficient enough, they’re forgettable once over (though apparently getting love on the other side of the pond). Personally, I’d religiously avoid Bible Eyes’ glazed rave gaze.
