Critiques CD: Seefeel | Seefeel

In 2008, Seefeel reformed after over a decade’s absence, the world having finally (maybe) caught up with their charming and odd mixture of warped electronica and shy, intimate pop. Joined by Boredoms drummer Iida Kazuhisa and DJ Scotch Egg, original members Mark Clifford and Sarah Peacock continue to explore the fault lines between electronic and pop that are often as evocative of the ‘80s as they are of the ‘90s. “Faults” evokes Laurie Anderson, mixing processed female vocals and soft synths but the ensuing industrial dub hardness of “gzaug” sets Seefeel on a path all their own.
