Critiques CD: Ludacris | Battle of the Sexes

After Ludacris’ 2008 effort Theatre of the Mind – a celebration of hip-hop culture and a departure from his usual work where the MC brought together DJ Premier production, Nas and Jay-Z collabos and various East coast flavours – the mouth of the south is back with an album full of his trademark style. This new LP is heavy on dancefloor and strip club anthems like “How Low” and “My Chick Bad” featuring hipster favourite Nicky Minaj, while her 90s equivalent Lil Kim laces a verse on “Hey Ho”. A couple romance tracks to balance things out and there you have it.
